Bob Ore began doing restoration on classic cars in the late 1960s as a hobby. In 1982 after 15 years of designing locomotives at Erie’s General Electric plant, he started his first business called Tri-State Metal Cleaning. This business eventually got Bob into restoring complete automobiles for customers and within 2 years he grew from just 1 employee to a full staff of almost a dozen. In 1984 they had outgrown their shop and had to move to their present location on Iroquois Avenue.
In 1986, Bob expanded even more into the world of metal cleaning and restoration work, when he purchased an existing high quality chrome restoration company named Qual Krom and began doing chrome work not only for his own restoration shop, but for restoration shops throughout the country and of course for individuals restoring their own pride and joy in their garages.
Present day, Bob Ore owns not only Qual Krom, Tri-State Metal Cleaning, and Bob Ore Restorations (all under the umbrella name of Ore Enterprises, Inc.), but his son, Jason Ore, has also joined the family business by opening Ore’s 955 Automotive located in the new building addition. Ore’s 955 Automotive specializes in high performance engines and restoration engines. |
